Three more great personalities from the modern past of the Greek shipping industry have been inducted into the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.

Basil P. Goulandris, Michael C. Peraticos and Stavros S. Niarchos emerged as the 2012 Inductees after an electronic ballot among members of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame Academy, an honorary membership organisation comprising numerous leading shipowners, executives and other experts from today's shipping community.

The identity of the trio of honourees was unveiled at an annual shipping dinner held in Athens on December 7, 2012. The procedure marked the first time that the annual Inductees have been chosen by an electronic ballot among such a large number of contemporary shipping personalities, all of them members of the newly formed Academy which has been conceived as the permanent voting body for the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.

Members could take confidence in the transparency and integrity of the system and of the results which were overseen by the international audit firm, Deloitte.
