Athens - 13 September 2021
The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame’s annual Induction Ceremony & Dinner took place in Athens on Monday 13 September as an outdoor dinner event.
The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame dinner has established itself as one of the most prestigious and popular events in the maritime calendar. Paying tribute to Greek shipping and many of its historic personalities, the event traditionally includes the announcement of the latest Inductees, as elected by members of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame Academy.
The Induction Ceremony which took place at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall was attended by a capacity audience of 300 guests in compliance with current Covid-19 regulations. The event programme included a unique video tribute to Greek independence and the last 200 years of its shipping history as well as the unveiling of the 2020 Inductees.
“We were delighted to be able to proceed with this year’s Induction Ceremony and provide guests with a memorable evening under the stars.” commented Caroline Lowry, director of Phoebe Media & Events, the exclusive organiser of the event.
Greek children’s charity Hellenic Hope received a portion of the event proceeds as the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame continues its support of this important children’s charity and its work with NGOs in Greece across a range of projects designed to maximise children’s welfare and education.
