The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame has announced that it aims to hold this year’s annual Induction Ceremony on the evening of Wednesday 7 July 2021, as an in-person dinner event under the stars.
The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner 2021 will celebrate Greek shipping and pay tribute to historic personalities who have helped to shape the industry.
Assuming that public health requirements at the time allow, it will be the first time that the eagerly–awaited industry event will be held at an open-air venue during the summer.
An exciting programme of content will include the unveiling of the latest Inductees to the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame. The 2020 Inductees will join 32 shipping ‘greats’ already inducted into the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.
The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame will continue its support of Hellenic Hope and a portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to this children’s charity, focused on helping at-risk children in Greece.

In case the summer event is not possible due to Covid-19 restrictions or precautions, we will hold the Induction Ceremony virtually, creating a unique programme that will bring Greece and its modern shipping achievements to a wider audience.
Last year’s first Virtual Induction Ceremony was widely praised for its original content and telling of modern Greek shipping history. It was viewed by well over 2,000 people.
