The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame’s third annual Induction Ceremony & Dinner took place on the evening of Monday 3 April at Megaron, The Athens Concert Hall.

A full house of guests from the Greek shipping industry and key overseas friends and business partners enjoyed the Welcome Drinks Reception and a vibrant Induction Ceremony programme that celebrated Greek shipping.

A core mission of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame is to pay tribute to historic personalities who have helped to shape the industry and a highlight of the event was to reveal the latest Inductees to the 600 guests at the dinner. The Inductees for 2016 joined the 24 ‘Greats’ previously inducted into the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.

With the announcement of the new Inductees, the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame reached a small milestone as it marked completion of a decade that we have been inducting leading shipping industry personalities.

A portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to Hellenic Hope. In addition, during the evening an auction, ‘Hollywood at Sea’, was held in aid of the charity, which is dedicated to supporting kids in Greece who are at risk from the current crisis. Thanks to a generous response from Greek shipping personalities attending the dinner, an amount of more than 50,000 euros was raised for Hellenic Hope through this year’s dinner.
