The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a unique dinner event in London to celebrate the Greek shipping industry and its long relations with UK maritime services. <\/p>

The London Event will be held on Monday 24 March 2014 in the historic ballroom of The Park Lane Hotel, Mayfair.<\/p>

We are proud that The London Event is supported by the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee and is already gaining prestigious sponsors. <\/p>

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Hellenic Hope, a registered charity dedicated to helping children at risk from the current economic crisis in Greece.<\/p>

The London Event follows the public inauguration ceremony and dinner of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame in April 2013 at The Megaron, Athens Concert Hall, which was attended by 500 top shipping people. The dinner event provides a first opportunity to celebrate the first 20 Inductees in the Hall of Fame, including the freshly elected Inductees for 2013. Beyond this, it will be a night of celebrating Greek shipping, its personalities, its dynamism and its extraordinary longevity. <\/p>

Many of the Hall of Fame's Inductees were closely associated with London throughout their careers and the event further celebrates more than a century of close maritime ties between Greece and the UK, a relationship that continues to thrive today.<\/p>

News of the sponsors for The London Event, and details for booking tables at the dinner, will be announced shortly. <\/p>
