The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame has signed a long term pact with Deloitte, the global name in audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management and tax services to oversee the integrity and results of the annual ballot to select its Inductees each year. The agreement was initialed on stage at the Inauguration Ceremony & Dinner for the Hall of Fame held on Monday 8 April 2013 at Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall.

The agreement builds on the oversight services provided by Deloitte last year when the 2012 Inductees were chosen, marking the first time that an electronic balloting system had been used to determine entrants into the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame. From 2007 to 2011 Inductees were chosen each year by a special panel composed of shipping industry personalities. From 2012 onwards Inductees are chosen through on-line voting among the membership of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame Academy, an honorary membership organisation currently with more than 200 members.

"I am proud to be part of this initiative. I have always taken every opportunity to support the industry" said Chief Executive of Deloitte Greece George D. Cambanis, who also serves as Deloitte's Global Leader Shipping & Ports. "The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame is a wonderful way to remember and honor the individuals that contributed so greatly" he said.

Voting for the 2013 Inductees will be held throughout the month of October 2013, the last date for nominations is July 31. Please direct any enquiries regarding the induction process to [email protected]
